Publication Charges (APC)

The Journal of Mind & Psychological Science (TJMPS) is an open access journal. To cover the costs of editorial processing, peer review management, copyediting, typesetting, digital archiving, and online hosting, the journal charges a modest Article Processing Charge (APC) upon acceptance of a manuscript.

Note: The APC is a one-time charge payable only after the manuscript has been accepted for publication. There are no submission fees, review fees, or any hidden charges.

No APC for Quality Work

TJMPS publishes outstanding papers free of charge. When the reviewers and the Editor-in-Chief judge an accepted manuscript to be of exceptional quality (original, methodologically sound and a clear contribution to psychological science), the APC is waived in full.

  • No application is needed: the editors consider every accepted manuscript.
  • The waiver is decided only after acceptance, so it never affects peer review or the editorial decision.
  • If your paper is selected, your acceptance email says so and no payment is requested.

Certificates

  • e-Certificate of Publication: free for every author, sent by email when the article is published.
  • Printed Certificate of Publication (optional): ₹500 (India) / US$20 (international) per certificate, courier included. To order, reply to the publication email with “Printed Certificate”.

When to Pay

Payment is required only after the manuscript has been officially accepted for publication following the peer review process. Unless the APC has been waived, authors will receive a payment notification email with instructions upon acceptance. The article will be published within 7 days of receiving the payment.

Important: TJMPS does not charge any fees at the time of submission. Authors should be wary of any communications requesting advance payment before acceptance. All official communications come from @tjmps.com email addresses only.

Fee Waiver Policy

TJMPS is committed to ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent quality research from being published. Separately from the No APC for Quality Work policy above, authors who genuinely cannot afford the APC may request a full or partial fee waiver.

Eligibility for waiver consideration:

  • Researchers from low-income and lower-middle-income countries (as classified by the World Bank)
  • Students (undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral) without research funding
  • Independent researchers without institutional support
  • Authors whose research is self-funded

How to apply: Send an email to editor@tjmps.com with the subject line "APC Waiver Request" at the time of submission. Include a brief justification for the request. Waiver decisions are made independently of editorial decisions — requesting a waiver will not affect the review outcome.

Discounts

  • Reviewer Discount: Active peer reviewers of TJMPS may be eligible for a discount on their own publication charges.
  • Institutional Discount: Institutions submitting multiple articles may contact us for special arrangements.
  • Early Career Researchers: Special consideration for Ph.D. scholars and early career academics on a case-by-case basis.

No Hidden Charges

TJMPS believes in complete transparency. The following services are included in the APC at no extra cost:

  • No submission fee
  • No review fee
  • No colour figure charges
  • No page charges
  • No surcharge for supplementary materials
  • The only optional extra is a printed certificate (₹500 / US$20, courier included); the e-certificate is free
