Author Guidelines

Authors submitting to TJMPS should follow the guidelines below to ensure efficient processing and review of their manuscripts. Submissions that do not conform to these requirements may be returned for correction before entering peer review.

General Requirements

• Manuscripts must be written in clear, grammatically correct English (British or American spelling used consistently).
• All manuscripts must follow the APA 7th Edition style for formatting, in-text citations, and reference lists.
• Manuscripts must be submitted as a .docx or .pdf file via the online submission system.
• The manuscript file must be fully anonymised for double-blind review — remove author names, affiliations, and self-identifying citations.
• A separate title page must be uploaded containing the article title, all author names and affiliations, the corresponding author’s email address, ORCID iDs (where available), and any acknowledgements or funding declarations.

Manuscript Structure

Empirical research articles should generally follow this structure:

Title & Abstract

A concise, descriptive title (max 15 words) and a structured abstract of 150–250 words summarising objective, method, results, and conclusion.

Keywords

Provide 4–6 keywords that accurately reflect the content. Avoid overly general terms and abbreviations.

Introduction

Establish the research problem, review relevant literature, state the study’s rationale, and clearly articulate the research question(s) or hypotheses.

Method

Describe participants, materials, procedure, and data analysis strategy with sufficient detail for replication. Report ethical approval and consent.

Results

Present findings clearly with appropriate statistical analyses. Use tables and figures where they aid comprehension. Report effect sizes and confidence intervals.

Discussion & References

Interpret results, discuss implications, acknowledge limitations, and suggest directions for future research. All cited works must appear in the reference list (APA 7th).

Tables & Figures

Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and include descriptive titles. Tables must be editable (not images). Figures should be submitted as high-resolution files (minimum 300 dpi) in TIFF, PNG, or JPEG format. Each table and figure must be referenced in the text. Colour figures should remain legible when printed in greyscale.

Ethical Declarations

Authors must include the following declarations in their manuscript or cover letter: (a) a statement confirming ethical approval from a recognised institutional review board or ethics committee, (b) a statement that informed consent was obtained from all participants (or a justification for waiver), (c) a conflict of interest disclosure, and (d) a funding statement identifying all sources of financial support. Studies involving vulnerable populations must describe the additional safeguards in place.
